Iran to launch national network of female elites, technologists

The Iranian vice president’s office for science, technology and knowledge-based economy has unveiled a plan to establish a national network of top female figures in science and technology in various fields.
The announcement was made in a meeting where over 30 female technologists, including university professors, company CEOs, top experts in various fields of oil and gas, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, medicine, research and technology gathered to examine the challenges faced by female experts in these fields.
The meeting also discussed various levels of networking goals, including empowering women and increasing specialized capacities, targeted allocation of facilities and support, and establishing transnational relations as well as highlighting women’s specialized activities.
This network aims to collect reliable data from female Iranian technologists in different ways and analyze them and collect different networking ideas.
Highlighting similar experiences in other countries, Ensieh Hajizadeh, Vice President of Women and Technology Studies of the Vice President’s office underscored the significance of networking for genius women and technologists to increase specialized capacity and empowerment.
According to the participants, the network is tipped to recognize the capacity of women and their challenges, use the capacities to tackle the challenges, highlight the demands in society for women’s activities, and improve the cultural aspects of accepting outstanding women in management positions.
