Local production of veterinary drugs achieved for 1st time in Iran

A knowledge-based company in Iran has successfully localized the production of various veterinary drugs, including injectable solutions and penicillin powders, meeting the critical needs of the country’s livestock and poultry industries.

This development marks a significant milestone in the domestic production of strategic veterinary products.

The livestock and poultry industries play a crucial role in providing a significant portion of the nation’s food supply. The sustainability of these industries relies on the efficiency and productivity of their operations.

According to the office of Iran’s Vice-President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, Erfan Darou, a knowledge-based pharmaceutical company, established its first production facility in 1998, spanning 12,000 square meters in the Hashtgerd Industrial City.

The company produces a wide range of veterinary drugs under global standards, making it the only facility in the country with top-tier GMP certification.

CEO Farzad Zeinali highlighted the company’s achievement in establishing seven separate production lines, manufacturing various drug formulations. These include injectable solutions, oral suspensions, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, and more, ensuring that the country’s livestock and poultry sectors have access to essential, high-quality medications.

Looking ahead, Erfan Darou plans to expand its production capacity significantly, with the potential to increase output by up to 15 times.
