Iranian startup hailed among winners of D-8 Technology Investment Meeting

An Iranian start-up project found its way to the top six ideas in the closing ceremony of the 6th Technology Investment Meeting (TIM) of D-8 Technology Transfer and Exchange Network (D-8 TTEN) held in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur. 

During the two-day meeting on August 12-13, expert panels were held on energy and sustainable development as well as artificial intelligence, according to the information center of Iran’s Vice Presidential Office for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy.

12 final investment projects proposed by startups from Malaysia, Iran, Nigeria and Pakistan were selected in both groups and were presented to the judges from Iran and Malaysia.

D-8 Secretary General Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam said the TIM is a serious and growing opportunity for establishing a shared technology and innovation ecosystem among the member states, namely Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey.

Meanwhile, Milad Sadr-Khanlou, the head of the D-8 TTEN, said the Technology Transfer and Exchange Network is ready to provide the infrastructure for the technology and innovation ecosystem of the member states.

He also said Iran and Malaysia launched several technological joint projects this year.
