Iranian game developer wins intl. awards for anti-war video game

The Iranian tech company “Bazisaz Bash,” based in the Pardis Technology Park، has gained international recognition by winning multiple prestigious awards for its anti-war video game. 

According to the park’s public relations office, the video game industry is one of the world’s leading creative sectors, engaging millions of users globally. 

Bazisaz Bash has excelled on the international stage with its latest game, “Fatherhood.” 

The company’s co-founder Mehdi Sadri explained that the game is set in the Middle East and portrays the devastating effects of war on individuals’ lives. Players assume the role of a father protecting his blind child, utilizing various mechanisms, such as holding the child to alleviate fear during wartime scenarios. 

“Fatherhood” has received several international accolades, including awards for Best Narrative and Best Social Impact at the 2022 Busan Indie Connect Festival. 

He added the game also won prizes at the Indie Cup Europe Festival and Indie X 2023. 

Additionally, Sadri mentioned, it was named the best game in the history of the Digital Dragons accelerator in Kraków, Poland, which provided financial support, specialized workshops, and mentoring. 

According to the co-founder of the Iranian tech frim, the game has also caught the attention of Microsoft and has been selected for their ID@XBOX program. 

Located in northeastern Tehran, Pardis Technology Park is under the auspices of the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy.
