D-8 tech transfer network, Al-Hidayah holding, and UTM Malaysia pen triangular MOU

At the sixth D-8 TTEN Technology Investment Meeting, a trilateral memorandum of understanding was signed between the D-8 Technology Transfer and Exchange Network (D-8 TTEN), Al-Hidayah Holding, and UTM Malaysia. 

The closing ceremony also recognized six investment-ready projects from Malaysia, Iran, Nigeria, and Pakistan. 

According to Pardis Technology Park’s public relations, the meeting was held on August 12-13 in Kuala Lumpur, hosted by Malaysia’s Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation. 

During the two-day event, specialized panels on energy, sustainable development, and artificial intelligence were held, and 12 selected investment projects were presented to judges from Malaysia and Iran. 

Malaysia dominated with three top projects, while Iran, Nigeria, and Pakistan each had one winning startup.

The trilateral MOU aims to enhance effective technology exchanges between Iran and Malaysia. 

As a first joint action under this agreement, the fourth D-8 Technology Transfer Award will be hosted by UTM in December in Johor, Malaysia 

Milad Sadrkhanlou, head of Irab-based D-8 TTEN, emphasized that this agreement would elevate technological cooperation between Iran and Malaysia. 

Iranian Ambassador to Malaysia, Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi, who attended the closing ceremony, also supported the agreement’s goals. 

During the event, D-8 Secretary-General Abdulqadir Imam also praised the growing potential for a shared technological ecosystem among D-8 countries and highlighted the D-8 Joint Technology Fund as a key initiative. 

Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey are member states of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation.
