Head of National Foundation of Elites: We are trying to resolve housing problems of scientific elites

Head of Iran’s National Foundation of Elites and Vice President for Science, technology and Knowledge-based Economy Hossein Afshian says for the science and technology ecosystem to be dynamic, scientific and academic elites must be given a chance for trial and error. Afshain added that the risk of turning their ideas into products within the government must also be accepted and the government must support the livelihoods of the elites. Afshian was speaking at the 14th Conference of Elites attended by President Masoud Pezeshkian and 600 scientific and academic elites. 

The vice president then spoke about the mission of the National Foundation of Elites, saying the foundation was formed with the aim of discovering the best talents of Iran while taking into account the underprivileged areas and applying initiatives there. 

He also referred to the difference between the path of an athletic elite and a scientific elite. Afshin said unlike an athletic elite who has a short time to work after getting a medal, the work for a scientific elite starts after getting a medal and it is just the beginning of the road.
