Iran’s scientific vice president highlights cultural technology development initiative
Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy has announced a joint collaboration between the country’s scientific vice presidency and the ministry of cultural heritage aimed at advancing cultural technologies.
The Communications and Information Center of the Vice Presidency reported that Hossein Afshin made the remarks during a visit to the National Handicrafts Exhibition in the capital, Tehran.
Afshin attended the 37th National Handicrafts Exhibition alongside the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri.
The vice president emphasized that handicrafts represent one of the most significant industrial sectors in Iran, reflecting the country’s rich culture and heritage while creating sustainable employment opportunities.
He noted that the innovation inherent in Iran’s handicrafts is rooted in centuries of knowledge, providing potential for enhancing Iran’s international standing and boosting the economy.
He added that Creative Houses can contribute to the thriving handicrafts and emphasized support for the initiatives across all provinces in Iran.
Afshin also pointed out the importance of strategic technologies in improving the production of cultural and creative industries, suggesting that advanced technologies can enhance various aspects of handicraft production.
