Iranian firm develops cost-effective electric actuator for oil, gas industries

An Iranian knowledge-based company, Negaresh Rayaneh Pouya, has successfully localized the production of electric actuators for industrial valves, offering them at half the cost of their foreign counterparts.

These actuators are critical for controlling fluid flow in industries such as oil, gas, petrochemicals, water and wastewater, power plants, and manufacturing facilities.

Established in 1998 to reduce reliance on imports and advance research in hardware, software, and electronics, the company produced its first pipeline valve electric actuator in 2012 after six years of dedicated research.

The actuators, utilizing an electric motor, control system, and gearbox, operate without leakage or pollution, making them environmentally friendly.

Seyyed Jamal Khaleqi, the company’s CEO, highlighted that the domestically-produced actuators are 40% cheaper than foreign brands while offering a three-year warranty and comprehensive technical support. With an annual production capacity of 2,400 units, the initiative has also created employment for 20 individuals.

This innovation not only addresses local industry demands but also significantly reduces dependency on imported equipment, marking a milestone in Iran’s efforts to bolster its industrial self-sufficiency.
