60% increase in employment thanks to knowledge-based companies

The Iranian science ministry’s deputy for technology and innovation says 41 thousand jobs were created at the scientific and technological parks of Iran last year. 

Dr. Ali Kheireddin added that the creation of so many jobs translate into a 60% rise in employment compared to the year before last year.  

He also pointed to the activity of 51 scientific and technological parks in Iran, saying 12 of those parks are university parks. 

Kheireddin stressed that 165 technological units and 19 knowledge-based companies have been launched in Semnan University’s scientific and technological park and this heralds job creation for university graduates. 

The Iranian science ministry’s deputy for technology and innovation also said Iran has acquitted itself well in terms of scientific production and it ranks 15th in the world and 1st in the region. 

Kheireddin promised support for knowledge-based companies and technological units, saying the implementation of the technology grants and entrepreneurship promotion are among plans pursued by the science ministry in order to support the companies.
