100k experts working in Iran’s knowledge-based ecosystem

The deputy for policy and development at the office of the Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy says approximately 100,000 experts are active in the knowledge-based sector of the country.

Mehdi Eliasi said increased cooperation between knowledge-based companies and large industries would make it possible to achieve economic growth and that new tools have been created to facilitate such cooperation.

Eliasi was speaking at the third Petro Tech Conference in the presence of senior managers from Iran’s Oil Ministry.

He underlined the necessity of adopting new approaches and accepting social and economic challenges in order to develop Iran’s vital industries.

The official added that technologists and engineers as well as knowledge-based companies play a crucial role in attaining the goal.

Elaiasi also said that the use of new technologies in Iran has grown further, and through synergy between different industries, sustainable development and economic growth can be achieved.
