Iran declares 3-fold rise in knowledge-based products

Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Roohollah Dehghani Firouzabadi says the country’s knowledge-based exports have increased 3-fold this year.

He was speaking on the sidelines of the second gathering of the export Club of Leading Exporters of Knowledge-Based Companies.

Dehghani described exports as a key issue for the economy, saying without exports nothing will leave and enter the ecosystem of the knowledge-based economy. He said therefore, exports are a serious issue and companies do their best to boost exports as much as possible, and what the Club of Knowledge-Based Exporters pursues is present plans for selling their products to other countries.

Iran’s vice president said in the distant past, science and technology served a decorative purpose, but after the Industrial Revolution, the function of science changed from a decorative role to a power-creating one.

Dehghani went on to say that Europe and the West were able to turn into big powers using the tools of science and technology.

While hailing the increase in the exports of Iranian knowledge-based products, he spoke about the efforts of the Club of Knowledge-Based Exporters of Iran, saying this club should not just serve as a venue for gatherings, but it also must create a board of trustees where companies can share their experiences with one another.
