Workshop on BRICS collaboration opportunities kicks off at Iran’s International Innovation Zone

A workshop titled “Introduction to BRICS Structures and Collaboration Opportunities” commenced on Tuesday at Iran’s International Innovation Zone, aiming to foster new technological partnerships with BRICS member nations, according to the Communications and Information Center of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy.
Organized by the vice presidency, the event highlighted Iran’s readiness to expand formal ties with BRICS countries, particularly in technology and innovation.
Sajad Ahadzadeh, head of the Center for Transformation and Progress Cooperation, emphasized the workshop’s role in identifying collaborative avenues with BRICS members.
He outlined four key areas of scientific and technological cooperation: research, infrastructure, innovation, and sustainable development, supported by 13 specialized working groups.
Ahadzadeh also noted ongoing efforts to facilitate Iranian tech companies’ presence in BRICS nations and announced upcoming BRICS tech-focused meetings in Iran.
Mehdi Safarinia, head of Pardis Technology Park, highlighted the park’s 20 years of experience in tech development, stressing that BRICS collaboration could counter Western technological monopolies and promote sustainable growth.
He described the workshop as a gateway for enhanced cooperation with Russia and reiterated Iran’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and leveraging its diaspora for tech financing.
