Survey: Iranian scientific vice presidency ranks among top gov’t bodies for public responsiveness

Iran’s Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy has been ranked as the fourth most responsive government body, with a 98% response rate to public information requests, according to official performance reports.
The ranking, based on data from the National Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) portal (iranfoia.ir), reflects the office’s compliance with Iran’s 2015 Free Access to Information Law.
Since 2017, over 2,700 government entities have been required to respond to public information requests through the centralized platform.
“The right to access public information is guaranteed for all Iranian citizens unless specifically restricted by law,” stated a release from the vice presidency’s Communications and Information Center.
The office emphasized its commitment to transparency as part of broader efforts to implement national legislation and support good governance.
The iranfoia.ir platform enables citizens to register and submit information requests to relevant authorities.
The vice presidency’s high responsiveness percentage demonstrates what officials describe as “the administration’s priority on accountability within the country’s legal framework.”
