Iran, Venezuela collaborating to develop nano technology roadmap

Tehran and Caracas have agreed to develop a Nano Technology Development Document for Venezuela.

The initiative, proposed by Iran, will leverage the expertise of Iran’s Nano Technology Development Headquarters.

According to the information center of the office of the Iranian vice-president for science, technology, and knowledge-based economy, both countries have stressed the need for expanding bilateral cooperation in nano technology, focusing on education, equipment, and commercialization.

The agreement was reached in a meeting attended by the Venezuelan ambassador to Tehran, the deputy minister of science of Venezuela, and Secretary of Iran’s Nano Technology Development Headquarters Emad Ahmadvand.

Suggested by Ahmadvand, the creation of the roadmap was set as a priority for both countries. The document will be developed by a specialized committee and will incorporate Iran’s nano technology experience.

Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Science Alberto Quintero highlighted the successful educational collaboration between Iran and Venezuela over the past two years.

He cited the month-long intensive courses organized by Sharif University of Technology, where Iranian professors and researchers traveled to Venezuela to offer specialized training to local universities.

Following this, Venezuelan researchers are expected to visit Iran and participate in advanced laboratory courses. Venezuela also expressed enthusiasm for expanding educational and scientific partnerships. The country plans to participate in the upcoming International Student Olympiad in Iran and the next Student Olympiad in Taiwan.

Other agreements reached include hosting joint scientific conferences, publishing collaborative papers, and indexing Venezuelan journals in international databases.
