Iran, Cuba discuss closer sci-tech cooperation

Iran and Cuba have exchanged views on closer mutual collaboration in the science and technology arena.

The discussions came in a meeting in Tehran between, Amirhossein Mirabadi, the head of the International Science and Technology Interactions Center of the Science and Technology Department of Iran’s Presidential Office and Cuban Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Environment Armando Rodriguez.
The meeting came ahead of a visit to Cuba by Rouhollah Dehghani, the Iranian Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy.
In the meeting, the Cuban deputy minister touched upon the considerable progress that his country has made in the innovation domain in recent years, saying Cuba has a road map ahead in the field of technology, and all along, draws on the experience of successful global examples in the field of technology.
He said Cuba stands ready to work with Iran in technological fields.
In the meeting, the two sides agreed to work out mechanisms to move forward with their cooperation. Accordingly, the establishment of a joint Iran-Cuba technological cooperation committee was put on the agenda.
