AEOI head, Iran’s VP for science and technology explore ways of expanding cooperation

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami and the country’s Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy Hossein Afshin have held talks over ways of boosting bilateral cooperation to further Iran’s technological advancements.
Eslami and Afshin stressed the importance of expanding joint efforts in cutting-edge technologies. Their discussions focused on areas such as quantum technology, laser systems, and cold plasma applications, with a strong emphasis on addressing environmental challenges facing urban centers.
According to the public relations office of the vice president, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to leveraging existing capabilities to drive innovation and solve pressing national issues.
Eslami highlighted the potential of joint initiatives to deliver transformative solutions, especially in mitigating environmental problems in major cities.
Afshin stressed the need for a clear roadmap with short-term objectives to ensure that joint actions produce tangible and timely outcomes.
The meeting builds upon previously signed memorandums of understanding between the AEOI and the office of the vice president for science and technology.
Both sides agreed to utilize their scientific and technological capacities to spearhead advancements and provide essential support to the country’s research ecosystem.
A key outcome of the meeting was prioritizing the development of quantum technologies, with a focus on building shared infrastructure accessible to researchers, universities, and students.
