Iran, Malaysia discuss expansion of scientific, technological cooperation

Senior representatives from Iran and Malaysia met on the sidelines of the OIC Dialogue Platform Ministers’ Meeting held in Tehran to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in science and technology.

According to the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the meeting took place at the Iran House of Innovation and Technology (iHiT), bringing together officials from the Iranian Office for International Scientific and Technological Cooperation and Malaysia’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).

Zahra Sahayi, Deputy for Technology Exchange, and Nur Siam Syeda Binti Ismail, Deputy Director of International Cooperation at MOSTI, discussed strategies for implementing joint initiatives, key areas of mutual interest, and mechanisms to facilitate collaboration.

During the visit, the Malaysian delegation was introduced to the capabilities of Iranian knowledge-based companies through a tour of the ongoing technology and innovation exhibition.

Ms. Syeda Binti Ismail expressed admiration for Iran’s technological advancements and affirmed Malaysia’s readiness to expand partnerships in the field.

The meeting is viewed as a significant step toward deepening bilateral ties in science and technology, aligning with both countries’ goals of fostering innovation through international collaboration.
