Iranian youth shine in AI and robotics at Istanbul’s Teknofest

Iran’s student robotics team earned first and second place in the inventions category at the Teknofest 2025 global robotics and artificial intelligence competition, underscoring the creativity and technical skills of the country’s youth on the international stage.
The event, held in Istanbul, brought together 980 projects from 56 countries, including Germany, South Korea, Canada, Russia, and India.
The Iranian team’s strong showing highlighted the nation’s growing presence in robotics, AI, and technological innovation.
The head of the Organization for the Development of International Scientific and Technological Cooperation, Hossein Rouzbeh, praised the achievement as proof of the importance of investing in young talent.
“Supporting student teams is not just a short-term effort but a long-term investment in the country’s scientific future,” he said.
Led by coach Hadis Mirzania, the eight-member team, aged 7 to 17, had previously won top honors in competitions in Canada, the US, Malaysia, and India.
Mirzania stressed that their goal extended beyond winning titles, aiming instead to guide students toward innovation and invention.
The success at Teknofest, she added, demonstrates the potential of Iranian students to compete globally and serves as inspiration for other young innovators across the country.
