Iran reports $183mn in nano exports, marking national scientific strength

Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, Hossein Afshin, hailed the country’s $183 million in nanotechnology exports as a symbol of national pride and resilience during the second day of the ceremony honoring top nano exporters on Wednesday.
According to the Vice Presidency’s Communications Center, Afshin said the country’s achievements in nanotechnology reflect the “fusion of knowledge, innovation, and perseverance.”
He emphasized that nanotechnology has evolved beyond a mere field of science to become “a universal language for transforming industry, health, environment, and energy.”
Afshin highlighted the current status of Iran’s nano sector, citing 1,735 certified nano products developed by 400 active companies, a domestic market value of 972 trillion rials, exports to 63 countries, and total foreign sales of $183 million.
“These are not just numbers,” Afshin stated. “Behind every product lies sleepless nights, behind every company a family devoted to a dream, and behind every export contract, a young Iranian defending the ‘Made in Iran’ brand through science.”
He added that Iranian exporters have proven their ability to compete globally despite economic and regulatory challenges, calling their success “an export of identity, knowledge, and national capability.”
Afshin concluded, “The future belongs to those who began from the smallest particle, and reached the world.”
