Iranian talent shines in final stage of Rayan International Programming and AI Competition

The final stage of the Rayan International Programming and Artificial Intelligence Competition concluded with outstanding achievements by Iranian talent. 

Iranian participants secured four top positions in the programming category and swept the top three titles in the AI division.

According to the office of the Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, the event was hosted by Sharif University of Technology with support from the vice President’s office. The final round brought together participants from 25 countries. 

In the programming track, more than 25,000 participants from 137 countries entered the preliminary stage. Seventy finalists from 40 countries qualified, and over 50 contenders from 25 nations competed in the in-person final round. Ultimately, 10 competitors from 6 countries earned top positions, with Iran earning the highest number of top-ten rankings. 

Ali Safari of Iran won first place, followed by Amirali Asgari in fifth, Hamed Ghaffari in eighth, and Alireza Kaviani in tenth. The AI competition saw over 4,700 participants from 65 countries in the preliminaries. One hundred teams from 14 countries advanced, and 20 teams reached the final selection—where Iranian teams secured all top three positions.

AI winners:

1st Place — No Trust Issues Here: Ali Nafisi (Bu Ali Sina University), Sina Asghari and Mohammad-Saeed Aranaghi (Iran University of Science and Technology), and Hossein Shakibania (TU Darmstadt, Germany).

2nd Place — AI Guardians of Trust: Mohammad-Javad Pirhadi, Mohammad-Mostafa Rostamkhani, Motahareh Mirzaei, and Negar Zein-al-Abedin (Iran University of Science and Technology).

3rd Place — Red Serotonin: Ahoora Zahedi.
