Iranian VP: Iran to replace India and China as Indonesia’s tech supplier

Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy Firouzabadi Dehghani has welcomed Indonesia’s decision to speed up the implementation of bilateral agreements signed during President Ebrahim Raisi’s recent trip to the southeast Asian country.

The agreements included the establishment of two joint companies that will provide pharmaceuticals and medical equipment to Indonesia.
The other project the two sides agreed upon was the creation of a joint office in Indonesia for the private sector.
According to Dehghani, the dispatch of one hundred Iranian technologists to Indonesia to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation is among the achievements of the visit by President Raisi to Indonesia.
The Iranian president in late May visited Indonesia at the head of a high-ranking delegation and met with his Indonesian counterpart.
Dehghani was a member of that delegation. The visit was aimed at expanding economic, political and cultural ties between Iran and Indonesia. Dehghani said the Indonesian side warmly welcomed Iran’s high-tech assistance.
Indonesia is a Muslim country in SE Asia and has an important place in the region and at the international level.
According to the Iranian official, Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Health is responsible for following up on this agreement.
He added at the end of July, a 13-member Indonesian delegation will travel to Iran along with members of the country’s top body in the field of technology, to that end.
