Iran to launch stable version of national AI Assistant by mid-March

Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, Hossein Afshin, announced that Iran’s AI Assistant project has reached its final implementation phases, with a stable version expected to be unveiled by the end of the current Iranian year on March 20.
The announcement came during a coordination meeting on the project held on Saturday, at the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.
The session, attended by Afshin and head of the Knowledge-Based Economy Development Center, Abdolhassan Bahrami, reviewed the project’s progress, data requirements, and plans for the upcoming implementation stages.
Afshin emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between government agencies and universities, describing the project as the start of a national initiative rather than a finished product.
“Over the past year, we have established a common understanding of the project’s objectives and needs. The execution phases are now being completed meticulously, and we hope to present a stable and practical version of the assistant by (Iranian) year-end,” he said.
He added that technical teams are currently integrating various components and finalizing infrastructure to create a fully functional AI assistant for public use.
Afshin also commended the participating university and executive teams and stressed that interagency coordination and synergy are key to advancing domestic AI capabilities and the knowledge-based economy.
