Cuban biotech giant explores collaborations with Iranian knowledge-based companies

Representatives from Cuba’s leading biotechnology holding, “Biocuba Pharma,” visited Iran to explore potential collaboration opportunities in the field of biotechnology. 

The delegation engaged in business meetings with Iranian knowledge-based companies, showcasing their capabilities in biotechnology.

Facilitated by the Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, these meetings provided a platform for Iranian knowledge-based companies to demonstrate their proficiency in biotechnology to the Cuban delegation. Ruhollah Dehghani, Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, had previously invited Cuban representatives to visit Iran and witness the country’s science, technology capabilities, and infrastructure.

Biocuba Pharma is Cuba’s largest biotechnology holding, comprising 34 subsidiary companies across various sectors such as genetic engineering, molecular immunology, vaccine development, neuroscience, pharmaceutical product development, medical devices, and import-export activities. 

The visit aimed to foster collaborations and knowledge exchange between the two nations in the biotechnology domain.
