Iran ranks 17th in world in creating AI-based sciences
Iran’s vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy says artificial intelligence is a “source of transformation” for Iranian society, boasting that the country is ranked 17th among the world nations in creating sciences based on AI.
Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi made the remarks in the second national event of knowledge-based industry with the approach of the fourth industrial revolution and smart city industry.
The Iranian vice president said, “Artificial intelligence has redefined the humans’ relationship with the world and has transformed humans’ life.”
However, he warned that technology makes human beings strong on the outside and weak on the inside, as artificial intelligence is supposed to think and control instead of people.
“Artificial intelligence is claiming the power of human thinking, and that is what distinguishes humans from other creatures,” Dehghani said, paradoxically adding, if a society overlooks the technology, it is doomed to failure in the near future.
The vice president added, “Those who are not active in the field of artificial intelligence will be the slaves of the future world and those who succeed in it are the masters of the future. Artificial intelligence has targeted the jobs of educated people and is replacing them as it thinks instead of humans.”
He concluded his remarks, saying a country like Iran, with limited resources, needs to increase it productivity, which can be made possible through artificial intelligence.
