Iranian VP pledges support for best of robotics

Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi has hailed students that competed with each other at the 17th round of Iran Open RoboCup held by Iran’s Islamic Azad University.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the competition, Dehghani said the students who took part in the contest want to build their future. 

He added “We are proud to announce that we will support the first to third winners of competitions in order to participate in the world championships.” While noting that this support will be diverse, the vice president said, “We intend to give a special privilege to the winners of the 17th round of Iran Open RoboCup and the future builders of Iran’s National Elite Foundation.” Dehghani underlined that the government will support these young people because of their intention to set up fledgling companies. 

He also admired Islamic Azad University for its efforts to train highly competent workforce, saying the University is moving toward educating efficient, creative and problem-solving people.
