Iran and Algeria to expand scientific and technological cooperation

Iran House of Innovation and Technology in Tehran hosted a parliamentary delegation from Algeria on Thursday evening. 

The visit by the Algerian delegation was aimed at expanding cooperation and bilateral ties between the two countries. 

According to the communications center of the office of the Iranian vice president for science,  technology abd knowledge-based economy, Deputy Speaker of the Algerian Parliament Mussa Kharfi and his entourage underlined the need to boost cooperation between Tehran and Algiers and diversify the areas in which both sides can work together. 

In the meeting, Head of the Center for International Scientific and technological Interactions Amirhossein Mirabadi expressed hope that this visit will be a starting point for the expansion of scientific and technological cooperation between the two sides. 

While noting today the progress of countries depends on progress in the fields of science and technology, he said science proved to be a key factor especially during the Covid pandemic more than ever before. 

Mirabadi also said during the period, Iranian scientists managed to produce vaccines, sophisticated medical equipment and necessary diagnostic kits. 

He added that there are huge possibilities and opportunities for cooperation between scientists of Iran and Algeria in various fields such as agriculture, healthcare, communication technology, etc. 

The Algerian deputy parliament speaker for his part thanked Iranian officials for their warm hospitality and underlined the role of the achievements and high capabilities of Iran’s knowledge-based companies in further expanding scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
