Official: 14% of Iranian knowledge-based companies active in international trade

The head of the Iranian Center for International Scientific and Technological Interactions says 14% of the country’s knowledge-based companies were active in international trade in the current Persian year of 1402.

Amirhossein Mirabadi was speaking at the second gathering of the knowledge-based export companies club. Mirabadi however noted that the remaining 86% of the companies have not engaged in any international trade activity yet.

Pointing to the first gathering of the club of Iranian exporting companies last year that “made good achievements”, he expressed hope that with the maximum participation of knowledge-based companies, this second gathering will become a permanent event.

Mirabadi added that more than 2 thousand companies have so far been included in the official evaluation process of the club, stressing that last year, 948 firms were included in these export evaluation process while the figure in the year of 1400 was 400.

Referring to the awarding of Iran’s Quality Label or IEQL to 5-star exporters, Mirabadi said when knowledge-based companies enter export markets, there is a need to evaluate their performance based on tools and this label is awarded to that effect.
