Iran knowledge-based exports to Kenya pass $1mn mark

Iranian knowledge-based companies exported in excess of one million dollars of products and services to the African economic powerhouse Kenya last year, a milestone facilitated by Iran’s Innovation and Technology House (iHiT) in Kenya.
iHiT in Kenya was the first base established for exports of Iranian knowledge-based products to Africa in order to create proper grounds for facilitating trade ties between the two countries with a focus on developing the export market of technological products.
Through its deep understanding of the needs and preferences of the Kenyan market as the gateway to East Africa, the center has been providing specialized services for market research, marketing of products made by Iranian companies and startups, and has provided a unique opportunity for them to enter international markets.
The CEO of iHiT in Kenya, Ali Bani Amerian told the information center of the Iranian President’s Office for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, “Iran’s Innovation and Technology House in Kenya is known as a key strategy in the development of Iran’s international trade by providing diverse and specialized export services.”
iHiT has been instrumental in holding over 50 joint technological and entrepreneurship events in collaboration with the UN, Kenya’s Chamber of Commerce, and Kenyan universities and academic centers among others.
It has also helped 11 Iranian knowledge-based companies gain footholds in Kenya and has registered two Iranian anti-cancer drugs in the Ministry of Health of Kenya, installed Iranian knowledge-based medical equipment in Kenyan hospitals and medical centers, and exported several raw materials and finished products to Kenya.
