Iranian Parliament backs knowledge-based companies, private sector innovators

Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, commended the achievements of knowledge-based companies, reaffirming the Parliament’s commitment to fully supporting private sector producers and entrepreneurs through legislative and oversight measures.

Speaking during a parliamentary session, Qalibaf expressed his gratitude to scientists, researchers, and private sector innovators, particularly acknowledging the organizers of the Pioneers of Progress exhibition, which showcased the latest achievements of knowledge-based firms. 

He highlighted the groundbreaking advancements that were presented, including the development of the national artificial intelligence platform, innovative technologies for complex components in the steel and petrochemical industries, surgical simulation devices, optimized water pumps, and the implementation of the national single-window land system. 

Qalibaf also mentioned efforts to address energy imbalances, advancements in the space industry value chain, and innovations in agriculture and livestock development.

He pointed to the challenges facing effective collaboration and utilization of the private sector’s vast potential, identifying “management imbalance” as a key issue raised by private sector representatives. 

Qalibaf stressed the urgent need for governance and managerial reforms to ensure these capacities are harnessed effectively.

The Speaker reiterated Parliament’s commitment to providing the necessary legal and supervisory support for producers and entrepreneurs, ensuring they can continue to contribute to national progress and development.
