Iran VP: Sci-tech diplomacy pivotal to country’s intl. engagement

A senior Iranian official says the science and technology diplomacy is one of the pillars of the government’s international interactions.
“In all his international trips and meetings, the respected president regards the science and technology domain as a central plank of negotiations, which focus on the health, treatment and medical equipment sector,” said Rouhollah Dehghani, the vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy.
He was speaking at two international conferences held simultaneously by the Iranian Royan Institute.
He also said Royan is a place which brings together and trains brilliant scientists. “These scientists have been a source of honor not only in Iran, but also at a global level,” said the vice-president.
He underlined the medical and health sector is one of the leading arenas in the country.“ The growing trend as well as the invaluable achievements in the health and medical sector has turned Iran into a heavyweight in this sector,” he explained.
“This success has been achieved on the back of ongoing years-long efforts,” he added.
