Special focus on supporting creative industries in arts: Iran’s vice president for science

The Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy has highlighted the importance of creativity for the country’s future, particularly in the arts sector.
In the closing ceremony of the 12th National Ceramic Art Biennial of Iran, Hossein Afshin pointed out the commitment to supporting creative industries, the Communications and Information Center of the Vice-Presidency reported.
Accompanied by Shina Ansari, Vice President and Head of the Department of Environment, and Nader Rezai, Deputy of Artistic Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, Afshin expressed his joy at the resumption of the significant event after a two-year hiatus.
He noted the intrinsic value of ceramics, both for their practical properties, such as fire resistance and mechanical strength, and for their role in showcasing the rich heritage of Iranian art, combining skill, thought, and passion.
Afshin further stated that fostering creativity is a mission of the vice presidency, noting that Iran’s future depends on such innovation, which is prominently reflected in the arts.
Meanwhile, the President of the National Elite Foundation emphasized the high potential of ceramic art to represent Iranian culture and art globally.
He highlighted that abstract and conceptual art pieces embody the essence of artistic endeavor.
During his visit to the exhibition, Afshin purchased three selected pieces from the biennial, donating one environmentally-themed artwork to the Department of Environment.
