More than 300 active knowledge-based companies are now playing a pivotal role in the development of Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, according to provincial science and technology officials.
According to the Communications and Information Center of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Habibollah Salarzehi, head of the Sistan and Baluchestan Science and Technology Park, announced that the park acts as a key bridge between universities, industry, and research institutions.
He noted it provides essential infrastructure, services, and support to innovative startups and knowledge-based firms across the region.
“These companies have generated employment for over 1,700 individuals,” Salarzehi said, adding that the park offers training and consulting services to help entrepreneurs commercialize their ideas and launch new ventures.
He emphasized the province’s vast potential in agriculture, industry, mining, handicrafts, nanotechnology, and other emerging fields.
