Iran unveils indigenously developed F-class gas turbine

Thanks to the support of the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, the MAPNA Group unveiled its latest product, the fully homegrown MGT-75 gas turbine.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Abbas Aliabadi, Minister of Energy; Homayoun Haeri, Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy; Mohammad Olia, CEO of MAPNA Group; and Touraj Amraei, Deputy for Development of Knowledge-Based Companies at the Vice Presidency.
The MGT-75, classified as an F-class unit, is capable of operating on hydrogen fuel and represents MAPNA’s newest achievement in thermal power generation technology.
In simple cycle mode, the turbine can generate 222 megawatts of electricity with an efficiency of 39.5 percent, while in combined cycle mode, it can deliver 345 megawatts with an efficiency of 59 percent. These figures mark nearly three times the efficiency of aging and outdated power plants, contributing significantly to fuel savings and the reduction of environmental emissions.
The project was realized with the financial backing of the Vice Presidency through tax credit mechanisms, and the MGT-75 is scheduled to soon be placed into operation as a complete turbogenerator unit.
