Iran Eyes Turkey as strategic platform for knowledge-based exports

The head of Iran’s International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Development Organization, Hossein Rouzbeh, emphasized the importance of institutional convergence between government bodies and private sector actors to boost knowledge-based exports to Turkey.

Speaking at the eighth session of the “Tomorrow Opportunities” series, which focused on export experiences of Iranian knowledge-based companies, Rouzbeh highlighted Turkey’s strategic role for technology transfer, joint production, and access to broader international markets.

He stressed that targeted support programs should be tailored to the specific needs of companies and that continuous dialogue between the organization and the business network is essential for effective policy-making.

Rouzbeh noted that Turkey’s geopolitical position allows it to serve as a launchpad not only for entering its domestic market but also for expanding to Europe, the Americas, and Africa.
He also pointed to active financial networks and funding opportunities in Turkey that can facilitate exports and cross-border collaborations.

“The main goal of today’s meeting is to align all stakeholders involved in knowledge-based exports to Turkey, from governmental agencies to the companies themselves,” Rouzbeh said.

He added that this session is only the beginning of ongoing consultations and that the organization is ready to provide full support, including specialized follow-up meetings, to strengthen Iran’s knowledge-based export sector.
