Iranian official advocates natl. technology creation centers for elevating elite

During a meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian Vice-President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, underscored the crucial need for transformation in tools and methods to align with the Supreme Leader’s emphasis on the pivotal role of knowledge-based flows in the nation’s economy and authority. 

Ruhollah Dehghani stressed that national technology creation centers are a key requirement for fostering hope, raising the ceiling of elite potential, and influencing knowledge-based governance across various sectors.

Dehghani commended the continuous support of the Supreme Leader in advancing science and technology within the nation, resulting in a robust movement of elite intellectuals, knowledge-based companies, and creative ventures. 

He noted that Iran’s capacity to influence the macro level of governance and transform science, culture, and the economy was substantial, driven by a strong foundation of over 10,000 knowledge-based companies, 3,000 knowledge-based technological companies, and 2,000 creative companies.

He elaborated on transformation programs initiated by the National Foundation of Elites, transitioning from a trade organization to a people’s organization striving to influence knowledge-based governance, generate employment opportunities in executive bodies, and promote professor-centered cores for knowledge-based startups. 

Dehghani also emphasized the importance of involving less privileged areas and fostering opportunities for gifted students in the transformative journey.

He highlighted the reorganization and redesign of technology development headquarters, aligning with global trends in AI, robotics, bioengineering, quantum technologies, and more. 

Dehghani emphasized specialized headquarters for knowledge-based economy development in crucial sectors, aiming to secure at least one percent of GDP share in various fields. 

He expressed gratitude for the President’s support and the enactment of the knowledge-based production leap law, facilitating significant contracts and collaborative industrial projects to advance the nation’s knowledge-based initiatives.

Dehghani concluded by reiterating the necessity of evolving tools and methods to realize the transformative potential of knowledge-based flows on the nation’s economy and authority, aligning with the Supreme Leader’s vision.
