Fetal membrane rupture test kit saves Iran $5mn annually

A knowledge-based company in the Iranian province of Isfahan has produced a kit that can diagnose fetal membrane rupture, saving the country $5mn a year, used to spend on importing the gadget.
Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Rouhollah Dehghani, and Isfahan’s Governor Seyyed Reza Mortazavi attended the ceremony to unveil the device in the Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT).
Aminotest is widely used as a non-invasive test for pregnant women who have signs of rupture of the amniotic sac. The test enables accurate, timely and simple diagnosis and helps doctors in quickly diagnosing problems and preventing future complications.
The AmniSure test kit produced by Yakhteh Fanavar knowledge-based company excels similar brands in terms of price and accuracy.
The kit had a 98-percent accuracy and the results are obtained in a short time.
The company can produce one million kits every year and meet 30 percent of the domestic needs.
The company which has been active since 2015 has had several achievements to beat the Western-imposed sanctions and help forgo the need for imports.
