Iranian company achieves breakthrough in moisture-resistant adhesive technology

An Iranian knowledge-based company has successfully indigenized a single-component polyurethane adhesive that completely dries in the presence of moisture and creates a crystalline structure.
That’s according to the communications and information center of the office of the Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.
Hekmat Sanat Pishro was established in 2019 with the aim of developing technical know-how and
commercializing the necessary chemical and polymeric materials for the oil, gas, petrochemical, and automotive industries. Ghassem Kasaeian, CEO of Hekmat
Sanat Pishro, says the company operates in several fields, including the production of polyurethane adhesives and resins used in the automotive industry.
According to Kasaeian, the single-component polyurethane adhesive HSP-AD-110P is one of the company’s knowledge-based products, which dries completely in the presence of moisture and creates a crystalline structure, enabling it to bond various surfaces effectively.
He noted that the price of the homegrown product is approximately 30 to 40 percent lower than its foreign counterpart. Kasaeian also emphasized that the company saved around three million dollars in foreign currency in the past year alone, with total savings over the past three to four years reaching five million dollars.
