Iran, South Korea set to boost technological interactions

Iran and South Korea have planned to promote their technological interactions in communications, the Development of Connectivity and Communication Technologies Headquarters affiliated with the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy has announced.

The secretary of the headquarters, Mohammad Karbasi, in a meeting with the managing director of a South Korean knowledge-based company, which is active in making radio equipment, said technological capacities and interactions between the two countries should be stepped up. 

Both sides also underlined the necessity to boost academic and industrial cooperation and help develop emerging technologies.

Karbasi noted that Iran is interested in increasing its cooperation with South Korea in its priority areas, among them radio equipment, and launch joint projects with the South Korean company. 

For his part, the head of the South Korean company said both sides should invest on the friendly ties between Tehran and Seoul in order to enhance their mutual cooperation.

Karbasi held the meeting on the sidelines of the International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP) held in South Korea, from April 14 to 19.
