Iran supports overseas experts to establish knowledge-based companies

The Organization for the Development of International Scientific and Technological Cooperation in Iran is offering significant support to Iranians abroad who wish to establish knowledge-based companies in the country.

The initiative, under the guidance of Seyyed Ali Hosseini, vice president of human capital for the organization, is known as the “Connect Plus” project.

This project aims to create a collaborative system with Iranian experts abroad, offering a range of financial and infrastructural assistance.

Elites and graduates who have previously founded a company or created products overseas and want to replicate this success in Iran, can benefit from initial and technological support.

Grants ranging from 500 million to 1 billion Tomans, in addition to infrastructure and space in major technology parks and universities, will be provided to assist in these endeavors.

So far, 380 proposals have been submitted, with 100 becoming knowledge-based companies.

Postdoctoral researchers are also supported, with 1,700 researchers receiving assistance in 1402.

These projects undergo rigorous evaluation and are often connected with investors to facilitate further funding, thereby lowering investment risk due to prior successful implementations.
