Dehghani: Iran has 0.3 percent of global turnover of toys

Iran’s Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi says figures show that the global turnover of the toy industry is 100 billion dollars per year, adding Iran’s share of that is estimated to be 300 million dollars, which equals 0.3 percent.

Dehghani Firouzabadi made the comments at an event aimed at expanding and exchanging the toy production technology. He pointed to the Raisi administration emphasis on the expansion of knowledge-based and innovative companies, saying the former are well-known in Iran but the latter are few.

According to the VP, if Iran wants to pay attention to the population ratio, the share of the country’s toy market must be one billion dollars, because it has 3 percent of the world’s population, which means that Iran has 3 times the room for growth in the toy industry.

Dehghani underscored that this capacity exists alongside culture, art, originality and thought in the country and can lead to the creation of creativity in the field of toy production.

In other comments, the VP said that the event can create a relationship between industry owners and toy manufacturers, adding that this is one of the promising points for the development of the toy industry.

He also said since technological development has come about in Iran, children and teenagers are more interested in technology-based toys and that can lead to the maximum development of the toy industry.
