Innovation factory opens in Yazad

Sattari: Innovation centers breathe the spirit of creativity into the cities

The Derakhshan innovation factory was inaugurated today in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology, and a group of local officials in Yazd Province.

Sattri, who also heads Iran’s National Elites Foundation, said Yazd Province, which enjoys an ancient civilization and is home to hardworking people, can pave the way for the development of technological job creation.
“In the course of this country’s long-running history, the people of Yazd have managed to play an important and strategic part on the country’s path to progress through the promotion of the long-standing culture of job creation. This is the characteristic of the sons of desert lands. We can speed up the trend by directing this culture toward development and job creation.”

He described the residents of Yazad’s adaptability to water shortage and creativities in this area as examples of the capacities for innovation in this province.

“One of the notable examples of innovation and invention in the field of energy has been recorded in the province of Yazd. Despite the existence of historical water-related restrictions there, the province has a long record of innovations in that sphere,” he said.

Although the province has rich underground resources, the culture of innovation in that field should be institutionalized and promoted so that the locally educated and creative workforce will stay in Yazd and make use of its innovative ideas to develop the same province, the senior official added.
