Iran, Africa hold knowledge-based panel, explore promotion of economic cooperation

On the sidelines of the Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Conference, a knowledge-based and IT panel was held with the representatives of the office of the Iranian Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy and the Ministry of Communications and Technology as well as African guests and businessmen in attendance. 

In this panel, Seyed Mojtaba Ghadamgahi, Deputy for Business Development of the International Organization for Scientific and Technological Cooperation introduced Iran’s science and technology ecosystem, brought up figures about the field of technology and the policies of the office of the Iranian Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy. 

Then, the representatives of the stem cell and regeneration office, the biotechnology office and the micro and nanotechnology office introduced the achievements of Iran in the fields and the specialized products of each. 

Representatives and businesspeople of different African countries such Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Central Africa, Kenya, for their part praised the introduced products, especially aquaculture and agricultural products, saying they are ready to obtain dealerships to sell these products and import them into their own countries. 

The representatives of these African countries also expressed their willingness to attract Iranian capital and technology in their countries. 

The meeting ended when the two sides built a business relationship and then the Africa businessmen were invited to visit Tehran’s House of Innovation and Technology.
