Iranian lab equipment company up-and-coming in domestic, foreign markets

A knowledge-based company in Iran that manufactures advanced laboratory and computing equipment for civil and geotechnical engineering has managed to gain a foothold in Iranian and Canadian academic centers.

Global MTM Inc. which produces laboratory equipment in two geotechnics and structure branches has obtained international standards, including ASTM International formerly known as American Society for Testing and Materials, for its products, the information center of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Kowledge-Based Economy reported.

The company that has displayed its products in the permanent Iran Sakht (Iran-Made) exhibition, has managed to sell automatic CBR Marshall machine, used to measure the strength of subgrade soil and highway sub base and subgrade via a penetration test, as well as automatic cutting machine which is one of the best sellers of the company.

Manouchehr Hejazi, the CEO of the company, said, “Our company’s equipment is used in the calculations of construction systems and the construction of large dams, road construction and civil structures in general that are involved with soil and stone.”

“Two years ago, we managed to beat our rivals both in terms of price and quality, and we sold three direct cutting machines to a large Canadian university, despite shipping and customs problems,” Hejazi stated, referring to the hurdles created by Western sanctions imposed on the country.
