Iran-Kazakhstan joint commission for economic, commercial, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation held in Tehran

The 19th joint commission for economic, commercial, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan held a session on December 3, 2023 in Tehran with the Iranian agriculture minister and Kazakhstan’s deputy prime minister in attendance. 

An expert panel of the Center for International Interactions of Science and Technology, Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy was also formed at the event. 

The two sides agreed that bilateral trade will reach 3 billion rials. 

Mohammad Ali Nikbakht, Iran’s Agriculture Minister said this year’s session is the second joint commission for economic cooperation between the two countries, which shows the importance Iran attaches to expanding cooperation with regional countries, especially its neighbors. 

He added that currently, economic cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan is not adequate.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstanr also spoke about his meeting with Iranian businessmen, saying the two nations have huge capacities for cooperation. 

He underlined that Iran and Kazakhstan reached an agreement on transportation logistics and banking settlement in their 19th joint commission.
