Iran introduces incentives to hire Iranian start-up accelerators from overseas

Iran welcomes Iranian innovators abroad with a focus on start-up accelerators by providing them with incentives to pursue their activities at home, an official says.

Mehdi Azimian, the head of the Development of Technology Parks Branches, addressing a major gathering of companies active in the field of accelerators in the Iranian capital Tehran, said the incentives are mainly ‘non-financial’, including training, helping in formations of teams, and holding entrepreneurial events.

He said accelerators are among the important pillars of the technology ecosystem and added job-creation is one of the most outstanding obsessions in this field.

Azimian also expressed gratitude to the Iranian Vice President’s Office for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy for holding the event.

An accelerator is a mentor-based program that provides guidance, support and limited funding for start-ups.
