Herbal medicine industry developed to achieve global standards for Iran-made products

Knowledge-based companies active in the field of herbal medicine have opened various laboratories as well as research and development units in order to pave their path into international markets.

Due to the fact that herbal medicines and innovative products related to this field are one of the priorities supported by the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, companies active in this field have managed to change the traditional industry to a modern one through effective technologies to extract material and turn it into a complicated and modern technology.

Capability to produce herbal medicinal products

The Talaye Sabze Tooba knowledge-based company is one of the knowledge-based companies active in the field of traditional and herbal medicines in the country. The company currently offers 130 different products in this field. 85 products of the company have received IRC international license. Meanwhile, 16 drugs produced by the company are categorized in the field of nano-medicine. Some papers have been published for 6 of the drugs in prestigious international journals.
The main consumers of the medicines produced by the company, which have an herbal base, are mostly reputable traditional medical clinics across the country. The medicines of the knowledge-based company cover a wide range of complications and diseases and are offered in the form of syrups, ointments, tablets and other common and official pharmaceutical formats.

The company uses 120 plants and natural products across the country such as thyme, jujube, and artichoke seeds to supply its products. Some of these products are provided to consumers by extracting the active ingredient, and others are presented to consumers, for example, in the form of herbal tablets. Meanwhile, all kinds of herbal concoctions, oils, teas and powders are also produced by this knowledge-based company.
The knowledge-based company has also established the Hekmat Sara Tooba Institute and the Hekmat Sabz Tooba Laboratory to develop its activities in the field of research, development, and education.

Considering the valuable herbal and natural reserves in the country, medicinal plants industry can be a major source of wealth creation and industrial growth in the country. Therefore, knowledge-based and creative companies have been established with the support of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology in this field, to develop the ecosystem in this sector.
