Iran set to bolster tech cooperation with Russia

A senior official with the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy says the country is set to increase ties with Russia, including the Republic of Bashkortostan, one of the richest territories of the Russian Federation in mineral resources.

Amir-Hossein Mirabadi, head of the Vice-Presidency’s Center for International Science and Technology Interactions made the remarks in a meeting with the president of Bashkortostan Republic.

Radiy Khabirov, the president of Bashkortostan, visited Iran’s Innovation and Technology House (iHiT) at the head of a delegation.

The two sides stressed the need for efforts to use their capacities and increase their technological cooperation.

The head of the Vice-Presidency’s Center for International Science and Technology Interactions said science and technology in various fields such as agriculture, industry, health, oil and gas, among other things, is a valuable opportunity for bilateral cooperation.

For his part, Khabirov praised Iran’s great technological progress.

He said Iran’s knowledge-based sector has made great achievements, expressing willingness to use their experience.

“During my visit to the iHit, I decided to use Iran’s technological capacities and products in the field of medical equipment, health, hygiene, toys and innovative games to develop interactions between the two countries and move from these small steps towards bigger and more developed cooperation.” 

The Russian official added, “First, a roadmap for these collaborations must be defined and these items must be mentioned in it.”
