Iranian firm produces feedstuff based on insect protein

An Iranian knowledge-based company has managed to produce feedstuff based on protein from insects.

The new product can replace soybean meal, which will cut down foreign currency spending considerably given that soybeans are imported.

The production of protein-based feed for cattle is one of the most important activities of Keshte Abe Paydar Zanjan Company (the Zanjan Sustainable Water Plantation Company), which was founded and registered in the northwestern Iranian city of Zanjan in 2015.

After patenting an invention, the company was selected as the top tech firm at a national water, soil and environment technologies festival held by the Science and Technology Department of the Presidential Office.

It is worth mentioning the feedstuff newly developed by the company is rich in proteins, fats and essential fatty acids and can be used in the production of food supplements as well as feed for livestock and marine creatures.
