Iran sells 19,000 billion tomans worth of nano products to 45 countries

The Secretary of Iran’s Nanotechnological Development Center has said the country has sold 19,000 billion tomans worth of nano products to 45 world countries.

Saeed Sarkar said the value added tax from the sale of these products equals 1,800 billion tomans that has been paid to the government treasury.

Sarkar however complained that one tenth of the sum has not been paid to Iran’s Nanotechnological Development Center so that it will support knowledge-based companies.

He was speaking on the sidelines of the 13th nanotechnology exhibition in the presence of journalists. Sarkar said the exhibition puts on display products that are about to be distributed in the market. The secretary of Iran’s Nanotechnological Development Center noted that business delegations from 10 countries are participating in the exhibition and that they have travelled to Iran to become familiar with the country’s achievements in the field of nanotechnology.

He voiced hope that the delegations will agree with Iranian companies to expand exports.

Sarkar then pointed to Iran’s place in production of nano science, saying the country ranks first among Islamic countries in the West Asia region in this regard, and that it has ranked fourth worldwide in recent years after China, India and the US.
