Iran, Venezuela to forge closer technological cooperation

Iran and Venezuela are on course for a closer partnership in the domain of technology. 

In a meeting with executives of the Venezuelan state-run telephone and internet service provider (CANTV), the head of the Center for International Scientific and Technological Interactions of the Department for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Company of the Iranian Presidential Office highlighted the need to forge closer technological cooperation between the two countries and described partnership with Venezuela as strategic and long-term.

The Venezuelan executives had recently come to Iran to inspect the process of the implementation of an agreement with the Modern Data Centers Development Company (MDC.

Amirhossein Mirabadi underlined that Iran-Venezuela cooperation is aimed at boosting the latter’s technological capabilities, adding, “We would like to be a strong partner for Venezuela in the technology sector and we hope this partnership and agreement will pave the way for the presence of a number of knowledge-based and technological companies in Venezuela,” he explained. 

The Venezuelan side, in turn, said they were pleased with the visits they had to Iran’s technological infrastructure, highlighting Iran’s great potential in the domain of technology.

They added Venezuela’s telecommunications sector should be renovated and equipped using the capabilities of Iranian companies.
